Wood-Look Tile

December 5, 2023

Tile wood-looks only continue to grow in popularity as a long-standing design trend for floors. This stylish and performance-driven alternative to hardwood features a full spectrum of colors and options – from a resurgence in dark and luxe wood tones, to Scandinavian-inspired light hues, and from planks of all sizes to classic parquet and herringbone.

Versatility is key and makes wood-look tile the ideal choice for various interior design aesthetics, whether modern, transitional, traditional or an eclectic mix of all three.

Banzai™ glazed porcelain tile, shown here in Ardor, exhibits the wonderful color variations commonly found in solid wood flooring.

Unlike real wood, which can be susceptible to scratches, dents, and water damage, wood-look tiles are generally more durable and resistant to moisture. This makes them a practical choice for areas with high foot traffic, such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Legati™ glazed porcelain tile in Sand incorporates wood-looks in both shower and bath areas.

Or, take wood-looks in an entirely new direction by creating a signature wall, highlighting yet another benefit toward its use in interior design.

Natural and earthy, Heirloom™ glazed porcelain tile in Larch creates a decorative effect welcome on walls.

Advances in tile manufacturing technology have contributed to more realistic wood-grain patterns and textures in tiles. This has enhanced their ability to mimic the look and feel of real wood in the most eye-catching ways.

Yakedo™ from Emser Tile is a striking collection, with a Shou Sugi Ban appeal. A long-used Japanese method of using fire to preserve wood, Shou Sugi Ban transforms the appearance of natural wood to be deeply intricate and soft.

Wood-look tiles are easy to clean and maintain. They don’t require the same level of care as real wood floors, which may need special treatment to preserve their appearance.

Mokuzai II™ glazed porcelain in Daku showcases both the beauty of tile and the versatility of its design. This collection is available in wide plank format for a result that’s both dramatic and realistic.

At the heart of the trend driving wood-looks in tile is its inherent warmth, which easily transforms spaces into cozy and comfortable retreats.

Finewood™ glazed porcelain matches the warm appeal of wood with an air of sophistication, making it a wonderful choice for spaces designated for entertaining.

Looking for more? Emser has a wide selection of wood-look tiles, ensuring a perfect fit no matter the space. Emser also offers its Emcore™ collection of luxury vinyl planks for those interested in exploring other material offerings.
